Laced – ‘Celeste’

Soundbites January 7, 2014

There is something distinctly archaic about Laced. Perhaps it is the etherial vocals, or perhaps it is their layered, intricate and melodic sound. Either way, they are onto something special, as evidenced with ‘Celeste’, which manages to be both charming and impressively constructed. As a Birmingham band, they have succeeded in eschewing the soon-to-be-cringeworthy ‘B-Town’ tag, and Laced may just be individual enough in the current climate to rouse quite a storm.
